Definitely, Maybe Plot

Will Hayes (Ryan Reynolds) is a 30-something father who is in a midst of a divorce when his 10 year old daughter Maya (Abigail Breslin) questions him about his life before marriage. After her first sex-ed class Maya wants to know everything about how her parents met and decided to get married. In an attempt to “PG” his story, Will changes the names and some facts. In doing so, he creates a love mystery so Maya has to guess who he finally married.

The story began in 1992, where Will, a starry-eyed aspiring politician, moves away from his college sweetheart, Emily (Elizabeth Banks) to New York to work on the Clinton campaign. In New York, he meets April (Isla Fisher), the copy girl for the campaign and Summer (Rachel Weisz). Emily visits and Will proposes in the park recounting the story of how his father proposed to his mother (running into his ex girlfriend) but Emily turns him down telling him she slept with someone else. As the story progresses, the relationship between Will and these three women develops leading up to the discover of who Maya’s mother is.

    boring….

The only funny enjoyable bit was when the daughter asked what the male word for slut was. Great to see a kid with some sort of morals

I thought this movie was pretty decent.

In typical Ryan Reynold’s fashion(player type role), he’s got 2 or more women interested in a relationship with him. The movie revolves around him trying to manage his own feelings with them and the need to explore other options. Although, this flick has a matured feel to his usual roles but I guess that usually happens when you add a child into the mix.

Overall this movie was worthwhile, considering the vast amount of other crappy movies currently out.

Have to definitely agree that the movie has a more mature feel but while I have heard a lot of good reviews (including yours) it just lacked a lot imo.
